This cake was made for a retirement party for my in-laws. It was a particular challenge, because I had to put this cake together while out-of-town on vacation, but I think it turned out in the end! It was one of my favorite flavor combinations: almond cake, almond buttercream icing and raspberry filling. The decorations on the cake were made from fondant and modeled after my in-laws.
Wow, the theme looks so real. I almost mistook that upper layer as real sand. LOL! Aside from its impressive looks, I bet that it’s extremely delicious! That almond beach sand must be the tastiest part. And I’m confident that your in-laws’ won’t forget that very special present. Cheers!
